  • I generally get to Disney World once a year (sometimes more if I am lucky), often in the summer. A Florida summer may sound hot, but there are plenty of tricks to beating the heat! (That do not include wearing a “fashionable” bucket hat and cooling towel while rolling up your shorts)

  • When I am not planning Disney vacations, I can be found doing something revolving around sports. Whether it be coaching (I’ve coached football for three seasons at the collegiate level), watching, or playing sports, I love the comradery of being on a team and helping others achieve success.  Making the most of your Disney vacation often requires some teamwork in its own right. There are a lot of moving pieces to the puzzle (transportation, fastpasses, dining, etc). I’m here to be your one stop shop to make sure everything fits together!

  • My favorite restaurant at Disney is Teppan Edo in the Japan pavilion at EPCOT. It’s great food and a great show watching these highly skilled chefs prepare your meal right before your eyes. Of course, part of the magic of Disney is that you’re allowed to have TWO favorites! With that said, I also love the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Enjoying a meal and having a semi private area to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks is the perfect end to any day!

  • The best nighttime show (in my opinion) that you will ever see is Happily Ever After at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. I don’t think I have ever been more awe inspired by the combination of exploding fireworks and a perfectly timed musical score in my life. When I need to give my spirits a boost at home, I even whip out the sound track and listen on my phone at least once a month (this is not an exaggeration at all!)

  • With regards to the MyDisneyExperience app, my favorite hidden gem is being able to search for and make FastPasses on the fly. Countless times, I have been able to bounce from one ride to the next using FastPasses that “just came open!” I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a good understanding of this app and how to navigate it before your trip. Knowing the finer points of this app on your phone (from mobile ordering your food, to unlocking your hotel room door) can save you an abundance of time giving you even more quality time to spend with your loved ones on the trip. Trust me, once you get the hang of using it, you’ll be a Disney World pro!

  • When looking for souvenirs, I always seem to land on a good comfy sweatshirt. They are timeless and can be used for years to come on cold Michigan nights when I wish I could be back at Disney. I try to collect one with every trip I go on. Each one is different and evokes a different special memory of that specific trip. I already know they will be the “embarrassing Dad” sweatshirts I wear in front of all my future kids’ friends and I am not apologizing for it.
